Baseball Season Wrapping Up
Saturday, October 03, 2009
Boston College football beat Florida State today so it is hard to think of much else. However, things are wrapping up in baseball as tomorrow is the last day of major league baseball of the regular season. All of the teams that will be making the playoffs have been decided except for one slot which goes to the top team of the American League central division. It originally seemed clear that Detroit would take the spot as their magic number was 1. However, Detroit lost its last three games and Minnesota won its last three games making this a bloodbath between the Twins and the Tigers. If Minnesota wins and Detroit loses, Detroit will be pushed off a spot reminiscent of the New York Mets pitiful end to the season of 2007.
